Why is it important?
Internet Marketing has been, since the birth of the Internet, one of the hottest topics in discussion. And the rapid boom of the Internet market, with the huge influx of public, led to the need for an "Internet Strategy."
Nowadays, Internet Marketing takes a more complex form, in that it requires "strategy." It has many parts, such as web submission and search engine optimization. But, web promotion has many other aspects.
Essentially though, Internet Strategy translates to how can I compete with the others.
The topic is a wide topic, and has many facets, seemingly complex. It's more than just Search Engine Optimization. Breaking the pieces down systematically, one can see that it is in fact surmountable.
Breaking Down The Strategy
In approaching the subjects of Internet Marketing and Web Promotion, it not so simple as "let's make a site and submit it to the search engines."
First of all, one starts out with a product and/or service one is marketing. At first analysis, one should know their product, and their market.
The questions one can look at are:
What is the product?
Who is my competition?
What is my target audience?
Is there a market demand?
Is the market saturated?
And other similar questions... This leads to Market Knowledge. It is critical to have a good grasp of the market one is entering.
Know Your Competition
As one is entering the market with a new product and/or service, it behooves the up and coming entrepreneur to know the competition, specifically as it relates to the Internet Strategy.
How do they promote?
What keywords do they use?
And so on...
